Marshall P. Katz is a graduate of Cornell University, lifelong resident of Pittsburgh PA USA, and a former business executive. He serves on the boards of many cultural institutions and travels extensively in the United States and Europe. His interest in Palissy ware began in the late 1980s when he saw a plate in a friend's home. Frustrated by the lack of a single comprehensive book on the subject, and very little else in English, he spent several years compiling enough information to write a number of articles before authoring his first book in 1994. Besides his writing, he is an important collector of 19th-century Palissy ware and has lent works from his collection to various museums. He has also lectured in several cities. Marshall Katz resides in Pittsburgh with his wife. We invite your inquiries.
